All local food businesses serving food to the public are required to register or update their details with City of Ryde if they:

• Open a new business
• Close down/stop trading
• Move to a new premises
• Sell to a new proprietor
• Change their business details.

There are more than 850 retail food businesses operating in the City of Ryde including:

• Bakeries
• Childcare providers that serve food
• School canteens
• Seafood retailers
• Supermarkets
• Fruit and vegetable shops
• Grocery/convenience stores
• Petrol stations
• Health food shops
• Caterers
• Mobile food vans
• Food stall holders at regular, temporary or one-off events.
