Lap Lane Availability
The Competition Pool
The Competition Pool is an Olympic length “long course” pool with a moveable boom that creates 2 x 25m “short course” lengths. The Competition Pool is heated to a FINA standard of approximately 27°C suitable for both swimming and water polo.
The Leisure Pool
The Leisure Pool is an indoor pool heated to approximately 29°C used for a majority of activities at the RALC including Learn to Swim, the Wave Pool and the Beach.
Note: When swimming laps, please try to swim on the left hand side of your lane, in the designated lane that is appropriate to your speed/pace and preferred swimming stroke - whether it is the slow, medium or fast lane.
The Program Pool
The Program Pool is heated to approximately 32°C and used for our Infant & Toddler Learn to Swim classes as well as our members and guests for hydrotherapy activities.
Note: The Program Pool and Ramp Areas are STRICTLY CLOSED during swimming lesson times. Our lifeguards provide reduced supervision during this time as it is not required by the public, though they do stay within close range should our instructors need lifeguard assistance. This is in line with our Swim School Duty of Care.
