- Rowe Street between Blaxland Road and East Parade
- Rowe Lane between Blaxland Road and Railway Parade
- East Parade between First Avenue and Rowe Street
- Railway Parade between Ethel Street and May Lane
- Part of Ethel Lane
- Station Lane
Refer to the map below for the location of the works.
When will the work take place?
Construction is anticipated to commence in April and concluded in June, weather permitting. Directly affected residents and businesses will be notified closer to the start of the works.
What will the work involve?
The Eastwood town centre experiences high pedestrian and traffic movements due to the retail and commercial activities and train station in the area. To help keep pedestrians and drivers safe, changes to the local road environment are proposed to alert motorists to lower their speed and make them aware of the presence of pedestrians.
The work will include raising the road level at entry points and intermediate points of the HPAA (raised thresholds), pavement markings, fencing and associated signage.
These measures have been developed in accordance with Transport for NSW guidelines for 'High Pedestrian Activity Areas.
Council has received funding from Transport for NSW under the Safer Speed 2024/25 Program to undertake this work.
