  • Project StatusPlanning

As part of investigation works to improve traffic capacity and vehicle/pedestrian safety, Council is undertaking a detailed potholing survey at the Constitution Road/Bank Street intersection, Meadowbank. The potholing survey works are the next stage of the previously completed topographical and utilities surveys and will enable Council to determine the exact depths of selected underground services.

What will the works include?

The works will involve the operation of surveying equipment to pothole (excavate and expose services) at 11 different locations throughout the intersection, both in the footpath and in the roadway. At each location, the footpath/roadway will be restored to Council requirements.

When will the works take place?

In order to minimise traffic impacts, potholing survey works will generally take place from 7:00pm to 5:00am between 24 July 2024 and 29 July 2024, excluding weekends (weather permitting). Traffic flows will not be impacted outside of these times.

There will be some noise disturbances during the works, however, works will be carried out at reduced noise level after 9pm.

What are the changed traffic conditions during works?

Constitution Road West, Bank Street and Meadow Crescent will operate under STOP/SLOW manual traffic control.

There will be restrictions on existing parking on Constitution Road West and Meadow Crescent. Access to shops, businesses and residences will be maintained at all times.

Pedestrians will be provided with convenient safe alternative routes at all times and will be guided by appropriate signage and Traffic Controllers to cross the road.

We apologise for any inconvenience these works may cause and appreciate your cooperation.
