The City of Ryde has committed to planting more trees across the City to help provide more shade, cleaner air and more beautiful places to live and play.
As part of this commitment, Council will be planting approximately 1,200 new street trees across the suburbs of Eastwood, Meadowbank, Denistone West, and West Ryde.
This planting will help improve and expand the connectivity between local bushland areas and enhance local biodiversity.
This project has been made possible due to funding Council received from the NSW Government’s ‘Greening our City’ program.
WHEN WILL THE STREET TREE PLANTING TAKE PLACE?
The street tree planting is scheduled to commence from Monday 18 March 2024, through to the 30 June 2024.
WHAT WILL THE WORKS INCLUDE?
Council will plan and implement the planting of new nature strip trees based on the feedback received during the community consultation period, as well as install temporary tree protection structures.
