Planning Ryde
Council has prepared a 20-year plan to ensure the City of Ryde continues to be liveable as it grows.
Planning Ryde Local Strategic Planning Statement 2020 outlines how we will continue to deliver a high-quality lifestyle, and increased opportunities to work, live and play in Ryde. It will guide all future local planning priorities, decisions and actions.
The document was developed using community feedback at every stage – and we will keep seeking your input as specific priorities of the plan continue to be developed, such as our local housing strategy.
Why a Local Strategic Planning Statement (LSPS)?
All NSW Councils were required to prepare and publicly exhibit an LSPS. Following a six-week public exhibition period in July and August 2019, the draft City of Ryde LSPS was updated in response to community feedback received and adopted by Council at its meeting of 12 December 2019.
The Greater Sydney Commission supported Planning Ryde as being consistent with requirements for the LSPS and it came into effect on 31 March 2020.
