Read items in your own languages

We offer community language collections in Chinese, Korean, and Tamil. Each collection includes books, magazines, CDs and DVDs for both adults and children.

Chinese and Korean collections are available at all City of Ryde Libraries. Tamil collection is available only at West Ryde Library. You can search all titles in these collections by visiting the Library Catalogue. 

Indyreads provides quality eBooks and eAudiobooks in Chinese and other community languages.

This platform is launched by State Library NSW.

Borrowing Books in Other Languages

For books in languages other than Chinese, Korean and Tamil you can request a free bulk loan from the State Library of NSW. They offer free multicultural bulk loans in 43 community languages.

Newspapers in Community Languages

The Australian Chinese Daily newspaper is available at all City of Ryde Libraries. Copies of Australian Chinese Daily are kept for a week.

Please note: library cards are required to borrow the latest issue at Ryde and Eastwood Libraries.
