Project Update - New Playground Santa Rosa Park
Published on 03 January 2024
In October 2022, the City of Ryde conducted a Have Your Say for the Santa Rosa Park Playground Upgrade seeking community feedback on the draft concept plans. Community comment closed on Sunday, 30 October 2022.
The community's feedback was valuable in finalising the playground's design and we are now pleased to inform the community that the work is due to commence.
What will the work include?
The new playground will include the installation of new play equipment, access pavements, additional seating and picnic shelter to the existing picnic area, landscaping and tree planting work.

When will the work take place?
Construction is expected to commence in the week beginning Monday, 15 January 2024 and is expected to be completed by May 2024, weather permitting.
Work will primarily be undertaken from Monday to Friday between 7.00am – 4.00pm and occasionally on Saturdays between 8.00am – 3.00pm.
What are the changed conditions during the work?
There will be fencing to barricade the work area and some pedestrian access will be altered for the duration of the work.
The picnic area will be unavailable, however the existing playground near Quarry Road will still be open for use.
Some noise disturbance can be expected at times while the work is completed, however the work will be managed to minimise disturbance to nearby residents much as practically possible.
