The City of Ryde is seeking feedback on a proposal to relocate a Bus Stop and Bus Zone on Bowden Street, Ryde to minimise impact to residential amenity and improve safety for pedestrians.
WHAT ARE THE PROPOSED CHANGES?
Council is proposing the following changes:
- Relocation of the existing Bus Stop outside of 91 Bowden Street to outside 79 Bowden Street
- Relocation of the existing Bus Zone outside of 91 Bowden Street to along the kerb between 79 - 83 Bowden Street. This bus zone will replace the existing “NO STOPPING 6:00AM – 9:00AM AND 3:30PM – 7:00PM MON - FRI” and “1P 9:00AM - 3:30PM MON – FRI, 8:30AM – 12:30PM SAT” parking restrictions that currently apply.
We have included a plan showing the location of the proposed changes.
WHY IS THE CHANGE BEING CONSIDERED?
Council has received a request from a local resident for this change in order to minimise impact to the residential amenity (e.g. privacy and security) and to improve pedestrian movements across the recently constructed raised pedestrian/cyclist crossing on Bowden Street to the south of Macpherson Street.
