Last year, the City of Ryde undertook traffic investigations, surveys and community consultation with the aim to improve safety for users in the Meadowbank Public School catchment area.
As part of this project, Council sought community feedback to identify:
- Community concerns, such as the ones raised by you
- Improvements to pedestrian access routes to and from the schools, such as footpaths and road crossings, in order to reduce reliance on driving
- Improvements to vehicle access routes to and from schools, such as road widening, traffic calming and drop-off/pick-up zones, to assist those who must drive to school
- Localised education and enforcement needs, to address the behavioural issues for each school
Following these investigations, Traffic and Parking Study Reports were provided to Council’s Works and Community Committee. The reports outline the issues raised by the school community and detail the proposed recommendations that have been separated into a short and medium term works program.
The Meadowbank Public School Traffic and Study Report is now on public exhibition for community comment.
