City of Ryde is seeking feedback on a proposal to modify the exiting Loading Zone on the southern-side of Hillview Lane, between Coolgun Lane and West Parade in Eastwood.
What are the proposed changes?
The proposal includes the following improvements on Hillview Lane:
- Converting the existing ‘Loading Zone’ at the rear of 129 to 133 Rowe Street to a ‘No Stopping Zone’
- Retaining the existing 9 metre ‘Loading Zone” across the rear of 127 Rowe Street.
Why is the change being considered?
Council has received a number of requests from the community and delivery drivers that the existing Loading Zone is encroaching onto the intersection of Coolgun Lane and Hillview Lane. When vehicles occupy the loading zone near Coolgun Lane, the movement of vehicles on Coolgun Lane and Hillview Lane is restricted, resulting in long delays and traffic congestion.
The proposed changes will improve traffic flow conditions and laneway access at the intersection of Coolgun Lane and Hillview Lane, and along Hillview Lane between The Avenue and West Parade.
