This Draft Media and Social Media Policy for Councillors policy has been developed in line with the Office of Local Government’s release of new ‘Model Codes’ for social media and media.

Council’s Media and Social Media Policies were originally adopted in 2013 and minor amendments were made in 2021, however the ways in which social media and media are used has changed since then, requiring substantial updates to both policies.

Council now invites you to consider the draft Policy for Councillors and make any submissions.
