Community Engagement Report | Denistone Sports Club Site - Future Us
Published on 31 March 2025
The Denistone Sports Club Site - Future Use was considered at the Council Meeting held on Tuesday 25 March 2025.
At this meeting, Council resolved the following:
(a) That Council advertise Expressions of Interest (EOI), seeking submissions from suitable organisations for the management and operation of the former Denistone Sports Club site (operational) and the top (northern) Bowling Green (community) in accordance with the framework for use outlined in this report.
(b) That a further report be submitted to Council following the receipt of submissions through the EOI process.
(c) That Council allocate funding of $60,000 sourced from general reserves to meet the cost of commencing and undertaking the EOI process and this be consolidated in the next quarterly review.
The community consultation period for Denistone Sports Club Site - Future Use occurred between 26 August and 29 September 2025.
As part of this first stage of consultation, and to help Council understand how the site should be utilised and managed into the future, Council invited the community to provide their feedback on the four options for the future use and management of the Denistone Sports Club Site.

Council will now undertake an EOI process to seek submissions from suitable organisations for the management and operation of the site as described above.
It is expected that this process will take up to 6 months from commencement to having an operator confirmed (allowing for the tender steps to be completed). Council has come to an agreement with the Denistone Bowling group and the site is currently being utilised for lawn bowls activities.
