Project Update - Byron Park Playground Upgrade
Published on 06 January 2025
City of Ryde is committed to ensuring that all families have access to safe, accessible, and high-quality parks. As part of our Playground Renewal Program, we will be upgrading the playground in Byron Park, Ryde.
In November 2022, City of Ryde conducted a Have Your Say for the Byron Park Playground Upgrade seeking community feedback on the draft concept plan.
We are now pleased to inform our community that the work is due to commence.
What will the work include?
The new playground will include the installation of extensive new timber themed multi activity play equipment with slides, swings including a toddler seat, springer play equipment and nature play items. In addition, a new path through the playground will be included with formal and informal seating.
When will the work take place?
Construction is planned to commence in the week beginning 13 January 2025 and is expected to be completed by early March 2025, weather permitting.
Work will primarily be undertaken from Monday to Friday between 7.00am – 4.00pm and occasionally on Saturdays between 8.00am – 3.00pm.
What are the changed conditions during the work?
The current playground will be demolished, and temporary safety fencing will be installed to barricade the work site. Pedestrian access will also be altered for the duration of the work.
Some noise disturbance can be expected at times while this work is completed, however the work will be managed to minimise disturbance to nearby residents as much as practically possible.
