Visit the graves of some of our earlier residents, hear their stories, and learn their histories. Tours will be virtual and actual.
You'll be able to visit the grave of Granny Smith, creator of the Granny Smith apple, and other interesting people. Learn about their lives and their deaths.
The event will include a talk at 11:30 am by Helen Patterson and Maureen Copley about the Cemetery at Gladesville Hospital.
At 12:30 pm, there will be a 5-minute walk to St Anne’s Churchyard for a guided tour of the cemetery.
About Willandra House
Visit Willandra House, an 1840s Georgian home. You'll have a chance to:
- explore the house and its views of the Parramatta River
- see memorabilia of Ryde’s history
- view a display of images of Ryde
- browse through our archives
- and purchase publications by the Ryde District Historical Society.
There will also be a display of images of the five cemeteries in the Ryde district and details of some of the people buried there.
