MSTYP Drama Masterclass: School Years 7-10

Join us this Winter Holiday for a Drama Masterclass!

In this 5 day workshop, students will work with professional theatre practitioner, Kate Murphy, to develop the craft of drama and acting. No prior experience necessary for students.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS WORKSHOP IS ONLY AVAILABLE FOR THOSE WHO LIVE OR ATTEND SCHOOL IN THE CITY OF RYDE

Course Components

• Warm Ups – learn how to warm up your voice, body and focus before a performance
• Acting skills – characterisation, listening and reacting
• Stagecraft – spacial awareness whilst on stage
• Vocal techniques – the basics of voice projection, diction and clarity
• Movement skills – introduction to physicality and movement
• Collaboration – group work and ensemble building

Showcase on Friday

Students will have the chance to showcase their new skills with an open studio for families at the end of the week. Please note that photography and videography of the showing is prohibited.

What to bring

1. comfortable clothing to move about in
2. a bottle of water
3. a healthy snack (no nuts please), avoiding the use of disposable packaging.
