Hear from legal experts and learn about your rights as a tenant in NSW. Delivered as part of Law Week.

Knowing your rights as a tenant is an important issue living in the Ryde LGA.

Join us at Ryde Library for an Infocus Talk on Tenancy and Rental Rights, as part of Law Week, with a representative from the Northern Sydney Area Tenants' Service (Marrickville Legal Centre). The speaker will explain what you can and can't do as a tenant and also what the landlord and real estate agent's rights and obligations are.

During the session, you'll learn about:

  • The basics of a lease agreement including notice periods
  • Your rights as a tenant including repairs, privacy/access, rent reductions and compensation
  • Your obligations as a tenant
  • How to deal with a bond dispute and what 'fair wear and tear' means
