St John Ambulance volunteers have covered the Granny Smith for over 35 years. In their iconic green uniforms, our local volunteers provide first aid and medical services keeping people safe and well. Keep an eye out for St John Ambulance throughout the festival and be sure to visit a first aid post if you need a hand!

During the Granny Smith Festival, Fire and Rescue NSW plays a vital role in ensuring safety. They provide on-site support, including attending emergency situations and monitoring for fire hazards. Their presence helps manage large crowds and address any incidents swiftly. By coordinating with event organizers and other emergency services, FRNSW ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for festival-goers, demonstrating their commitment to community well-being during local events.

SES SES

NSW SES Ryde Unit volunteers, led by Unit Commander Keiran Gibson, have been an essential support to the Festival for 39 years and crucial to the safety and ongoing success of the event. They assist with parade marshalling, stallholder logistics, crowd safety, community engagement and fireworks safety. This year NSW SES Ryde Unit will have an additional exciting series of 8 free presentations to educate the community to be better prepared for weather emergencies that will be located in a sit-down shaded marquee in Rowe Street next to the SES van display. Don’t miss it as every attendee will receive an SES tote bag.
