Safety, Accessibility, and Sustainability

Crowds of people standing at different outdoor festival stalls

At the Cork and Fork Festival, we are actively working towards delivering a safe, accessible, and sustainable event.

Safety

Lost Person

A lost person may be a child or a vulnerable individual without an accompanying adult.

If you find someone who is lost, please inform the nearest security personnel or event staff member, or go to our festival information stall located directly across from stage or St John's located on Yaralla Road.

If you are an adult looking for a missing child or vulnerable individual, please stay at their last known location and inform event staff, security personnel, police, or Council staff at the Information Stall if you are nearby.

First aid

First aid provided by St John's will be located on Yaralla Road. To ensure that they are easily found, first aid signage will be on display.

Inclement weather

In the event of adverse weather conditions, announcements will be made to remind all attendees to seek shelter, wear appropriate clothing, and apply sunscreen. Council staff will also be available to direct you to the nearest drinking station and first aid stall.

The City of Ryde Events Team will monitor the weather leading up to the event and will notify the public of any updates via the City of Ryde website and social media pages.

Accessibility

Amenities

Throughout the event site, accessible toilets will be at the following locations:

  • Waterfront near Yaralla Road
  • Parking lot of Kissing Point boat ramp

Sustainability

Transport

Transport is often one of the largest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions for events. Some eco-friendly ways you can get to the event include:

  • Riding your bike
  • Walking (get your steps up and walk to the event!)
  • Catching the free shuttle bus

Single-use plastics

Stallholders are banned from distributing single-use plastic bags, straws, cutlery, food packaging, and balloons. If possible, bring along your own reusable bags, cutlery, and cups to help reduce waste.

Water stations or bubblers will be available at the event. Bring along your refillable drink bottle and you'll have access to free drinking water all day.
