Aussie Thong Throwing Competition

The competition will run in two age categories, with two rounds per category and 10 participants per round:

Terms and conditions

Participants do not need to reside in the City of Ryde
Limit of 1 entry per person
City of Ryde staff, the Mayor and Councillors are not able to win a prize – and if they are awarded the winning position the prize will automatically be awarded the contestant awarded second place
The contestant who throws the thong the furthest will be declared the winner for each category
A contestant who steps over the starting line when throwing the thong will automatically be counted as a disqualified throw and will need to do a re-throw
A total of 3 re-throw’s are permitted per contestant
Selected entries may also be displayed through Council’s communication channels. No personal details will be uploaded; only the winner’s first name and age may be displayed
All decisions made by the judging panel are final and no correspondence will be entered into
Participants must be at the event on the day in order to submit the entry and win a prize
In the event that a prize is lost after being awarded, City of Ryde are not responsible for providing a replacement or issuing another form of compensation for the lost prize
By participating in the competition, is automatic acceptance of the Terms & Conditions
Contestants under the age of 18 must have parental or guardian consent to enter the Thong Throwing Competition
Once all prizes are awarded, no more will be given
