Native Vegetation
The City of Ryde is home to a number of native vegetation communities. The natural vegetation supports a rich variety of animal life and native plant species. The vegetation communities have been categorized based on the relevant geology of which they occur on. The geology includes; Shale, Sandstone and saline wetlands.
Although a large percentage of the City of Ryde’s natural vegetation has been cleared, significant bushland areas have survived.
