Estuarine Reedland

Estuarine Reedland is characterised by tall dense swards of the common reed (Phragmites australis). It is found in environments inundated by saline or brackish water. This community is commonly encountered on the landward side of saltmarsh flats.

An Endangered Community

Estuarine Reedland is listed as an Endangered Ecological Community under the Threatened Species Conservation Act 1995. Threats to this community include changes to the tides and sea levels, stormwater run off introducing nutrients and other pollutants
