Ryde Net Zero Emissions Pathway
The City of Ryde Net Zero Emissions Pathway was adopted in October 2022. The Pathway was developed after the City of Ryde’s declaration of a Climate Emergency in 2019 and in support of the actions and programs that were already being undertaken across the city to reduce carbon emissions.
Extensive community consultation was undertaken to inform the development of the Pathway actions and targets. The emission reduction targets for the City of Ryde are:
- Council Net Zero Target: Commit to Net Zero emissions by 2035 with interim emissions reduction targets of 70% reduction on 2018/19 emissions by 2029/30, or as soon as possible
- Community Net Zero Targets: Support the community to meet Net Zero Emissions by no later than 2040 or as soon as possible, with interim emissions targets of 76% reduction on 2018/19 emissions by 2029/30.
