Disability Inclusion Action Plan
Everyone has the right to be a part of their community, and to be able to pursue their goals in life. Our community is better when we work to include all people, as this ensures everyone is considered, allowing us to lead richer and happier lives.
That’s why we want to make sure that people with disability, their families and support workers are included in the City of Ryde ensuring that our City, facilities, and services are accessible enabling them to fully participate in their local communities. The Disability Inclusion Action Plan is your guide to how we are going to work with the community to make it more accessible, and how that will benefit all of us.
As a Council, we have a responsibility to look for, and where we can, remove the barriers that stop people from being involved in our community. The need to support inclusion is recognised at many levels of legislation and policy in Australia.
In our Disability Inclusion Action Plan, you will find out more about disability in our community, and how we are going to make the City of Ryde more accessible and inclusive over the next four years.
