Park'nPay app goes live in Macquarie Park

Paying for parking has become even easier in Macquarie Park, with the NSW Government’s Park’nPay app going live from today.
The Park’nPay app allows motorists in Macquarie Park to pay for parking or top up existing parking online using their smart phone.
The app also helps motorists avoid parking fines by sending a notification when their meter is about to expire or their parking restrictions are about to change. In addition, it keeps track of a motorist’s parking history and is completely ticketless.
City of Ryde Mayor, Clr Jordan Lane, said the introduction of the Park’nPay app would benefit the thousands of motorists who park in Macquarie Park each day.
“Council has been keen to partner with the NSW Government and roll out the Park’nPay app as it will save time for motorists and allow them to manage their parking from anywhere via their smart phone,” Clr Lane.
“This will encourage more people to visit Macquarie Park and provide a welcome boost to local businesses at a crucial period.
“In addition, the app will provide Council with valuable information about parking movement in Macquarie Park that will help us improve traffic flow and the ongoing management of parking in the area.”
Minister for Customer Service and Digital Government and Member for Ryde, Victor Dominello, said the rollout of the technology in the community was great news for residents, workers and visitors.
“The app is a game changer for drivers and saves them time. Gone are the days of having to search around for loose change for a parking meter or leaving a meeting to top up your balance – drivers now have more parking power in the palm of their hands,” Mr Dominello said.
“I commend the City of Ryde for coming on board and putting customers first. This is a big win for Macquarie Park and reaffirms its reputation as an economic, education and innovation powerhouse.”
The introduction of the Park’nPay app is the first of many smart parking solutions earmarked for the City of Ryde with real-time parking availability and accessibility parking availability set to be rolled out on the app in the coming months.
The Park’nPay app is available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play. Motorists simply create an account on the app with their licence plate and payment details. Users then have the option of paying with Visa, AMEX, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
To date, more than 90,000 NSW drivers have downloaded the app with 93 percent giving it the thumbs up.
