Mac Park Social to Put the Spotlight on World Food Cultures
Published on 18 August 2022
The streets of Macquarie Park will come alive this September, with a series of pop-up events putting the spotlight on food cultures from around the world.
Mac Park Social aims to attract residents and local workers away from their desks and out into the fresh air with food trucks, live music and outdoor dining spaces livening up one of New South Wales’ largest business districts.
Each Wednesday in September from 11am-2pm, there will be gourmet delights from Asia, the Mediterranean, the Middle East and the Americas, with a different theme each week.
And to top it off, ice cream masters Gelato Messina will be there bringing their award-winning gelato to the heart of Macquarie Park, with custom flavours for each event. The tantalising array of flavours will include You Cannoli Live Once (with pistachio fudge and praline and cannoli shells), Cinnamon Cone Crunch, Spill The Tea (Hong-Kong milk tea gelato) and Ode to Zeno (rosewater gelato with crushed pistachios), among others.
Dates and locations are as follows:
- 7 September – Mediterranean Plaza – Banfield Road, Macquarie Park
- 14 September – Americana Market – Giffnock Lane, Macquarie Park
- 21 September – Asian Street Food – 12-24 Talavera Road, Macquarie Park
- 28 September – Middle Eastern Bazaar – Thomas Holt Drive, Macquarie Park
City of Ryde Mayor Clr Jordan Lane said, “With the weather warming up it’s the perfect time to get out of the office and experience delicious food, culture and live music at the heart of Macquarie Park.”
