The wait is over for food and wine lovers with the return of one of City of Ryde’s most popular annual events - Cork & Fork by the Riverside - at Kissing Point Park, Putney, on Sunday 26 May from 10.00am-4.00pm.

With a host of fabulous food and drink options available, it’s a great opportunity to grab a picnic blanket and get together with family and friends to sip, swirl, and taste your way through a wonderful day on the picturesque banks of the Parramatta River.

Cork & Fork by the Riverside, first held in 2017, showcases boutique wine from the Mudgee and Hunter Valley regions, as well as locally made spirits, craft beer, food trucks, gourmet food products, bespoke items, and great music. An estimated 7,000 people attended last year’s event.

This year’s local food trucks include Sydney Ice Cream, Coffee at Mays, Satay Brothers, Authentic Turkish Gozleme, Cee’s Sangas and Jaffles, and Spicecraft. They will be joined by local beverage suppliers Village Days Brewery, Buffalo Vale distillery, and Smug AF, which produces non-alcoholic cocktails.

There’s also plenty of fun for the whole family, including free kids’ craft activities, free face painting, a free Lego workshop, and free cooking workshops. Pony rides and amusement rides are also available, with tickets to be purchased from the supplier.

The music kicks off at 10.00am, with a variety of talented artists taking the stage to offer plenty of singalong and dancing opportunities.

Getting there is easy – you can take the ferry to Kissing Point Wharf, located just 50m from the event site, or hop on a train to Meadowbank Station and catch the event shuttle bus running every 15 minutes to and from the venue.

To taste test the beverages on offer from our many wine, brewery, and distillery suppliers you will need to purchase your own branded Cork & Fork wine glass on the day for $10. Glasses will be on sale at our ticket booth (cashless payment only).

City of Ryde Mayor Clr Trenton Brown said Cork & Fork by the Riverside was the perfect day out for both locals and visitors.

“With winter on our doorstep, this is a great opportunity to come together as a community and warm our spirits at one of this City’s most scenic locations,” he said.

“I encourage you to get together with friends and family to sample some of the mouthwatering delights on offer, as well as enjoy some fantastic entertainment and activities.

“I can’t wait to see you all there.”
