Kids Giving Back
The Youth Changemakers Program connects young people aged 14 to 18 years with a diverse range of volunteering opportunities. Service hours can be used towards Duke of Edinburgh, Service Learning and IB students.

Youth Action
Become a Youth Action member and help shape policy submissions, research, reports and advocacy work. Members also engage with the governance of the organisation by voting and submitting nominations for our Board. Join by visiting Become a Member (youthaction.org.au).
Join the NSW Youth Network to participate regular sessions for young people to learn from one another, create a space to discuss goings-on and share ideas about important issues for young people. Advocate for Children and Young People (ACYP)
The Advocate for Children and Young People (ACYP) run a Youth Advisory Council that plays an important role in guiding NSW Government youth affairs and raising the views of young people. The Council meets regularly throughout the year to discuss a range of relevant topics, as well as monitoring and evaluating youth-related policies and legislation which affect young people. You can join this group from the age of 12.

2RRR Radio
2RRR (Ryde Regional Radio) is a community radio station dedicated to giving a voice to those who through mainstream media have no voice. They seek to inform, entertain and unite communities across Sydney through their programming and community activities. The station offer a range of volunteering opportunities from radio presenters through to admin helpers. Volunteers aged 14 and over are accepted.

Ryde Eisteddfod
A performance-based competition for vocal, instrumental, speech, dance and choral disciplines. Ryde Eisteddfod operates from July to September each year in halls across the City of Ryde region.
Volunteers are open to 15+ years, particularly those looking to do work experience.

Easy Care Gardening
Easy Care Gardening unites volunteers with older people in our community to provide gardening assistance, helping them to remain living independently in their own homes. Volunteering is open to everyone over the age of 16, or 14 if you sign up with a parent or guardian.

The Habitat
The Habitat community nursery and food garden is run by volunteers and specialises in local provenance native plants and creating habitat for small native birds. Volunteering is open to anyone over the age of 12.

Montefiore
Montefiore cater for all levels of aged care and have residents from early 70's up until 100+ years and from all backgrounds and faiths. They are looking for young people who may wish to make a difference by visiting, helping with technology, having a game of scrabble or chess. You can become a volunteer from the age of 16.

COR Events
Are you interested in events and looking for hands-on experience within the industry? There are a range of small and large events in the City of Ryde every year that value volunteer involvement. Most of these opportunities are short term where volunteers can gain valuable experience as part of a team working on a major event.

Each school holidays City of Ryde host a variety of physical activities across the city’s many parks, open spaces and recreational facilities for children and young people. Volunteers are required to help run these activities. Opportunities are open to anyone over the age of 14.
