National Disability Insurance Scheme
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is the new way of providing individualised support for people with disability, their families and carers. It gives people with disability choice and control over the supports they receive to pursue their goals and aspirations and participate in daily life.
The NDIS became available in Ryde and the Northern Sydney region from July 2016.
For more information about the NDIS, visit the NSW NDIS website. The website provides information and resources in Easy Read English, community languages and Auslan.
If you’d prefer a face-to-face conversation, come along to a monthly NDIS Connection Desk. A Local Area Coordinator (LAC) from Uniting NDIS will be available to answer your questions about:
- Applying for the NDIS
- Preparing for a planning conversation or a plan review
- How to use your NDIS funded plan.
