National NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia this year from 7 - 14 July 2024 to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.

You can support and get to know your local Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities through activities and events held across the country.

The theme of NAIDOC Week 2024 is ‘Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud’.

Enjoy a performance by THE ILLUME Girls

As part of City of Ryde's 2020 NAIDOC Week digital celebrations, The ILLUME Girls performed in two sets of original music in their studio.

With a powerful presence, these women deliver emotive and soulful music described as "smokey honey" with singing both in Yolngu matha and English. The ILLUME Girls are key members of the Gambirra Mob that perform at festivals such as Splendour In The Grass.
